I am so sick of people imposing their opinions on others. It’s her body, it’s her life. If she wants it to be that way, then let it be. It’s of no one’s business. She has such a nice face, and i am sure a beautiful soul. Just because she is a bit over weight does not give us any right to be judgemental towards her or anyone for that matter.

She is entitled to her opinion as is everyone. If it bothers you what the media depicts as beauty, then tune yourself out. You don’t need to agree with everything in this world and all in all, arguing is pointless. If she thinks being weight has a bearing on beauty, then so be it. Surely you have heard the saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” It’s true. What you think is beautiful may not be to another. Get over yourself.

So sick of the current trend of fat people trying to promote being fat as a healthy lifestyle, and that this is the image of a “normal, average” woman. The reality is that it is the image of a seriously obese woman.

If she was half her size she would feel a shitload healthier and her heart, liver and other vital organs would all thank her for it. If she is going to the gym, she’s obviously not training hard enough and if she is eating healthy (which i doubt) then she is obviously just eating too much.
Run for miles? riiight- Would love to see that youtube video!

It’s not rocket science, unless she has underlying health issues that are make it hard to maintain a healthy weight, then it’s because she hasn’t learnt how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Saying that she only has one body and that “it was the body she was given” is just a cop out for being lazy, the reality is she just doesn’t see it as a possibility for herself so isn’t willing to put in the effort.

Sure there are skinny people that are unhealthy, and naturally skinny people, but FIT & HEALTHY people don’t get like that by luck, it’s about good lifestyle choice and a shitload of hard work every day.

You do have to understand that some people’s genetics do indeed prohibit them from being thin. I’m not speaking for her but you don’t know if she has a thyroid problem or not. If you thinks she’s fat ehay stop to comment who cares.

      • kells3 says:

Oh yeah… I know ALL about genetics… thyroid problems account for a fraction of a percentage of people who are obese… Let me tell you, I have PCOS, and it is a struggle to stay in shape, but I actually DO eat healthy, watch my portion sizes and I DO run for miles (which I can tell ya, there is NO WAY she has run any further than 50 meters if that!) and even with my genetic condition I only fluctuate between 120-130lbs. YES, it is a struggle, and YES it is more of a challenge for me than for the “normal” girl, however there is NO EXCUSE to be THIS big! Even two of my girlfriends that do have thyroid problems stay in shape and work hard to maintain their weight too. I can’t stand this promotion of, it’s okay to be fat. It’s not about what you look like, it’s about being healthy and feeling good! This is not healthy America! Stop saying that it is!

I know that you are insecure, unintelligent and mean hearted, you must really hate yourself. You, oh coward that you are, go back to school learn to spell (learnt isn’t a word by the way, it’s learned and it doesn’t go there anyway) and use proper grammar.

You do not know a single thing about her, you doubt her abilities because you judge on upon your opinion of how YOU see her, not by what is truth. She stated that which you repeated verbatim about how you believe her to be lazy and liar.

Beauty has no set definition no matter what Webster’s Dictionary has to say about it.

To the people who think that fat rolls are a thing of beauty, what do you consider ugly physically on a person? There has to be a negative because what goes up, must come down. I’m pretty sure you’ve judged someone based on appearance. Everyone has. It’s human nature.

Amen! to a lot of what you said. Most people feel that they have a right to judge others based upon their appearance. I see it all of the time. A fat person walks into a restaurant and everybody just about stops eating to jeer at the fatty as if that fat person has no right being seen in a restaurant. Unless the fatty is on Medicare ( and even then this is a weak argument) then what does that persons size and life choices have anything to do with me, you, or anyone else? Another misconception, is how good does the fatty do their job? After all, if they cant figure out how to take care of themselves then how can they take care of others, or their jobs, or the attention to detail of their profession?

Point is that there are a lot to ones life that others don’t see. For those who think that fat people are happy that way, or that they have to no excuse for being fat, have no idea what kind of life others lead, nor how hard they work to support their families. Respect for others regardless of how they look was obviously not a paramount concern for your parents to instill upon you. Who cares if she is fat?? She has a pretty face, good for her. Even if she wasn’t good looking, if she treats me or others with the respect, then that’s how I feel she should be judged.

And I’m so sick of fat-hating, misogynistic rhetoric being presented as faux-compassionate concern for female health! This lovely and positive young woman’s body IS the body she was born with, with her own particular genetic makeup. For you to assume that she’s lazy, and accuse her of lying about being a runner is just vile.

I am a lot bigger than a 14 and I am not as big as her. Yes she is beautiful, but she isn’t running miles, working out at the gym and eating healthy. I have been big and tiny and while I feel better when I am not so skinny it is not healthy to be that big. A healthy weight for me has nothing to do with looks, it has to do with the best for your body. I agree that she should be happy with herself, but making up stories that obviously are not true is not the way to do it. I don’t eat Big Macs either but that don’t mean that I am healthy. It is best to do what is best for your health, screw anyone else and their opinions. It is also better to lose weight and get as healthy as you can. No matter what people want to say, layers of fat around your organs causes damage and no one can look at her and say she doesn’t have excess fat around her organs. It is her body, her life and no one else’s business what she does with it and she shouldn’t have to make stuff up to say that. All this talk of fat is beautiful is creating havoc on our society, just take a look at the multitudes of obese children around nowadays. It should have nothing to do with looks, self esteem or what anyone thinks of you. If people truly wanted to be big the diet pill business would not be one of the fastest growing and biggest products out there. Grow up people. Health is what we are giving up and our kids are suffering for it.

I was at the YMCA changing in the change room. I herd 2 12 yr old girls discussing how long they were not eating so they wouldn’t be teased about their weight. When these 2 girls stepped out of the change room my heart broke in a million pieces. There was nothing to these girls you could tell they were malnourished. So you two negative ninny’s might want to open your eyes. I’m a nurse so I have seen it all. And as for the size 14 yes it is possible camera can put about 50lbs on a erson

She is a beautiful young lady. Our society has been afflicted with what the media tells it, and the media uses fear to sell products. One of the biggest fears they look to trigger is one of not fitting in, and of not being attractive enough. She is plenty attractive, and if she allows herself that, she should have no shortage of suitors.
However, it is clear she is not really all that accepting of her size in that she is claiming a much smaller size than her body would indicate. She’s no size 14. I know what a size 14 looks like, she’s easily a 22. But, it’s just a number. I hope she will come to accept that too without judgement.

And if you end up in a hospital bed, will have a much more difficult time getting out. Longer time on a ventilator due to the added weight on the chest wall. Higher risk of pressure ulcers. Longer rehab time. Increases joint wear, with many surgeons requiring wt loss before replacements. These are facts not being mean. Anyone can be beuatiful…be healthy.
