The Atlantic Ocean Road is a 8.3 km long. This is one of dangerous road in the world. The road is located in Atlanterhavsveien — Norway. The good thing is that you don’t need to wash your car after this 😉

Nope. Nope. Nope.
That is all kinds of nope.
…Nope.
I’ve read up on this before; I read a very interesting article about dangerous commutes and roads around the world. This was one of them and it freaked me out. There’s also a very narrow road high up in the mountains of Bolivia with no guardrails whatsoever – one wrong swipe of the steering wheel and you’ll go careening to your death over the mountainside.

Trail Ridge Road, Colorado. Snow and storms to be reckoned with!

In good weather or low tide, no problem. But I’m thinking the weather and tides can be unpredictable.

The Atlantic Road isn’t dangerous.. Maybe a little bit of salt water sprays over your car which means you have to wash the car often to get rid of the salt.. But.. NO!!! Absolutely not a dangerous road. I live near it and have driven it many many times.. If a little bit of water spraying over a road is dangerous then some roads in the Shetland islands where I lived before moving to Norway would be described as impossible, even though local people drive them all the time without complaining or dramatizing it on the web.
Best way to describe the Atlantic Road would be exhilarating.

this road is a cakewalk compared to the Roads I’ve seen in Bolivia – “roads” 5 feet wide perched along the sides if steep mountains with no guardrails. THOSE roads are treacherous, not this one.

Your right. Even with the new paints and factory rust proofing the salt water would rust it quickly.

Reminds me of the poem “Road not taken” by Robert Frost. This is indeed a scary road. There must be stories related to it for sure?

The road in Norway is not treacherous, just poorly designed. Heavy spray like that should not routinely come up and over the roadway – and I note it’s apparently the protective bumpers that cause it. They’re poorly shaped, and wrongly positioned. That Bolivia roadway is treacherous.
