5 Ancient Exercises You Need To Be Doing Everyday

RITE 1: SUFI WHIRLING

The Movement

Stand with your arms extended outward at shoulder level. Begin to spin clockwise slowly while looking in front of you. If you get dizzy, you can focus on a single point but try to allow your vision to blur as you spin. Stop when you feel dizzy or if you are losing your balance. Work your way up to 21 complete spins.

The Breath

Feel your breath entering and exiting your stomach. When you stop the movement, breathe more deeply in and out until you have regained your balance and your heads stop spinning.

RITE 2: LEG RAISES

The Movement

Lay flat on your back on the floor with your arms along your side, palms up. Keep your legs straight and take a deep inhalation breath as you lift your legs as high as possible eventually ending up over the head. At the same time lift your head off the ground bringing your chin to your chest. Exhale slowly as you lower your head and legs back to their original positions.

Note: You can modify this movement by placing your hands under your buttocks with your palms facing down to support your lower back.

The Breath

Inhale as you raise your legs and exhale while lowering them.

RITE 3: RECOVERY POSTURE

The Movement

Kneeling, place the palms of your on hand along the side of your thighs. Bend your chin towards your chest and begin to inhale deeply. Slowly raise your head and begin to lean back as you move hands from the side to the back of your thighs. Slide your hands down lower as you lean back further to help support your weight. Allow the weight of your head and neck to drop backward as you look up. Keep your eyes open to maintain your balance and feel the release in your spine. Begin exhaling as you slowly return to your original position.

The Breath

Inhale as you move backward into the bend and exhale when returning to the original position.

RITE 4: TABLE POSTURE

The Movement

Sit on the floor with your legs straight in front of you about shoulder width apart. Place your arms along your side with the palm of your hands flat on the ground and your fingers pointed towards your toes. As you begin to inhale, raise your buttocks while keeping your arms still and bending your knees. Shift the weight to your arms and continue to lift until your thighs are parallel to the ground, allowing your head to fall back. Exhale as you slowly return to the original position.

The Breath

Inhale as you lift and move into the table posture and exhale as you return the original position.

RITE 5: INVERTED-V

The Movement

On your hand and knees, inhale as you move into the Cobra position by moving forward, straightening your legs, arching your back and leaning your head backward. Try not to let any part of your body touch the ground except for your toes and hands. As you begin to exhale, move into Downward Dog by bending at the waist into an inverted V. Straighten your legs and arms while tucking your chin into your chest.

The Breath

Inhale as you lower yourself into Cobra and exhale as you move into Downward Dog.

After completing the fifth movement, lay on your stomach with your arms stretched out at shoulder length with your chin on the ground. Close your eyes and feel your breath and blood circulate through your body.

5 Reasons to Never Stop Being Your True Self

1. LIFE SEEMS MUCH EASIER.

Anytime you act in-authentically or make decisions that don’t serve your best interest, you become further detached from yourself. Life will seem more difficult, because you are in opposition of what your heart truly wants. When you stop thinking about what to be and just BE, that allows you to tap into the natural flow of the universe, and life will start working with you, not against you.

Don’t try to label yourself, over think your words or actions, or limit your expression; all of these will pull you back into the struggle that many people feel because they stifle their uniqueness. As a child, you didn’t even think twice about what to say or do, you just lived. Adopt that same mentality today, and you will feel much more free and in alignment with your true essence.

2. YOU BECOME A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR OTHERS.

Once you fully love yourself and have no problem expressing that to the world, other people will notice. They may feel jealous of you and try to bring you down, but most people will probably look up to you and ask for your advice. By becoming who you were meant to be, you will encourage other people to do the same without having to utter a word to them. People can just feel when others are comfortable and happy with themselves, and it opens up a space for other people to be themselves. Do you see how impactful this can be? If everyone acted in accordance with their true nature, our world would reflect a more loving, conscious, vibrant reality.

3. YOU WILL ATTRACT THE RIGHT PEOPLE.

When you strip away everything that no longer serves you and all the conditioning from your past about who you should be, you will start to notice that people on a similar vibration come into your world almost effortlessly. As this happens, people who you no longer mesh with will fall to the wayside, and friendships seem much more enjoyable.

People who have a firm grip on themselves and know what they want from life tend to have deeper, more meaningful connections with others, because they have knocked down all the walls that once imprisoned them. They have freed themselves, and they naturally attract others who live with no limits.

4. YOU WILL DISCOVER YOUR UNIQUE PURPOSE.

Everyone came here to accomplish something different, but unless you really know yourself, it will seem much more difficult to figure out your mission. However, as you go within more and let that inner voice speak to you, it will guide you to fulfilling your destiny without you really having to try. The key to being yourself is to not try, not struggle, not demand answers, not beg, not worry, but just BE. Then, as you surrender to the universe and rediscover your highest self, it will become very clear what you came here to do.

By not living authentically, you will probably work in a job you hate, thinking you have no way out. One huge motivator for being yourself should be getting to follow your purpose in life and not clocking in hours at a job that feels like drudgery to you.

5. YOU HAVE MORE CLARITY TO MAKE BETTER DECISIONS.

If you live in any way that goes against your soul, you will probably make hurried, poor decisions about your life and end up feeling stuck. Stepping into your own light will lift the veil that once concealed the better parts of life, allowing you to make more informed decisions that align with your vibration.

When you give in to societal norms and follow the herd, you will probably put too much weight in other’s opinions rather than listening to what your own heart wants. For example, your family might want you to go to medical school because your dad is a doctor, and you know that isn’t your passion. But, you go anyway, because you believe that you will feel happier by satisfying them.

5 Ways to Start A New Life Today

1. GIVE UP THE “ALL OR NOTHING” MENTALITY.

Even the most positive, self-confident people in the world have spells of insecurity and negative thinking sometimes, but it can become debilitating if you actually believe these thoughts. For example, let’s say you want to get a higher paying job. You might tell yourself “If I don’t land this job, then I will never find anything else and that means I just don’t deserve anything better.” See how damaging this type of thinking can be? By telling ourselves we won’t find happiness and fulfillment unless a certain event occurs, then we have vested all our faith and energy in an outcome. This means that if something different happens, our rigid way of thinking will prevent us from seeing the bigger picture, and realizing the universe simply had different plans for us.

Rather than thinking in absolute terms and conjuring up the worst case scenario in your mind, start thinking more realistically. Self-defeating thoughts can really prevent you from living up to your full potential, and trick you into thinking you can never change your life due to one event or situation.

2. STOP LABELING YOURSELF.

When you label yourself, you limit yourself. You place yourself in a box full of stereotypes and society’s preconceived ideas of what people should act like, which inhibits you from recognizing your Higher self outside of worldly labels. You don’t have to assume any identity in order to express the real you; we all are simply energy that manifested into form, and don’t need labels to separate us from our Oneness. Simply say “I am” and don’t feel the need to finish the sentence. Go out and live your life and do things that make you feel like more of yourself, without becoming attached to words that describe your personality or lifestyle.

For example, let’s say you tell yourself that you’re shy, so you can’t go to a party with people you don’t really know. Or maybe you identify as a New Age hippie, so you think you can’t go shopping for new clothes if you want them. These labels just serve to bar you from new experiences in life, and can really take hold of your mind if you let them. Release your need to fit into a certain group, and just accept yourself as never-ending, free-flowing energy. This is when you can change your life, when you can realize that you’re already a free and limitless being.

“Give up who you are to become who you might be.” – Unknown

3. DON’T VALUE THE OPINIONS OF OTHERS OVER YOUR OPINION OF YOURSELF.

Most of us still live in some degree of fear of other people’s opinions. We second guess ourselves and end up doing things we don’t really enjoy to impress other people. We desperately want to fit in and feel accepted, so we rely on other people to provide us with that security and comfort. However, if you live your entire life caring about what other people will think of you, then you will never experience life at all. You will only see the world through other people’s eyes and wear a mask over your true identity. You possess all the power and confidence you need already; you must rise above the chatter and judgments of others, and reclaim your soul by simply going within for answers. Look to yourself for acceptance and love, and it won’t matter then if others approve of you or not. Once you learn to value your own opinion more than those of others, you will start to see the leaves of change in your life.

4. REPLACE THE “I CAN’TS” WITH “I CANS.”

Another form of degrading thoughts, the “I can’t” mentality can stop you in your tracks before you’ve even taken a step forward. If you don’t think you’re good enough or deserving of something, then of course, it won’t show up in your life because you’ve created a blockage. You have put up walls to keep out potentially amazing things from manifesting in your reality, and told yourself you can’t achieve what you want before you even try. The universe works with the Law of Attraction, so whatever you think will show up in your life, regardless of if you want it or not.

If you don’t like what you see in your life, the primary culprit here is your mind. Change your thoughts, change your life!

5. STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS.

Comparison does nothing for you, except make you doubt yourself and feel inferior to others. It can make you feel worthless if you expect your life to look exactly like someone else’s, and will most certainly only pave the road to disappointment. Or, you could use it in the opposite way, in order to feel better about yourself and where you’re at in life. It helps to remember that everyone here is on their own journey, and no one is inherently better than anyone else. We all have our own roads to take, our own destinies to fulfill. Your path will look differently than your neighbor’s, your sister’s, and your friend’s, and this doesn’t mean you have chosen the wrong route.

Fake $100 bills are left on cars, may be part of dangerous holiday scam

So you see $100 bill left on your windshield. You assume, yeah, it is my lucky day, a $100 bucks for me. You leave the car to grab the money and boom, someone steals your car. FOX 2 reports that this may actually be a scam in which people are lured out of their cars to grab the fake money, therefore allowing thieves to hop in their running vehicles and drive away.

Nurse Reveals the Top Five Regrets People Make on their Deathbed

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.

It is very important to try and honour at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.

This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children’s youth and their partner’s companionship. Women also spoke of this regret. But as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence.

By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, it is possible to not need the income that you think you do. And by creating more space in your life, you become happier and more open to new opportunities, ones more suited to your new lifestyle.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result.

We cannot control the reactions of others. However, although people may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, in the end it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way, you win.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

Often they would not truly realise the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying.

It is common for anyone in a busy lifestyle to let friendships slip. But when you are faced with your approaching death, the physical details of life fall away. People do want to get their financial affairs in order if possible. But it is not money or status that holds the true importance for them. They want to get things in order more for the benefit of those they love. Usually though, they are too ill and weary to ever manage this task. It is all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called ‘comfort’ of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content. When deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again. When you are on your deathbed, what others think of you is a long way from your mind. How wonderful to be able to let go and smile again, long before you are dying.
