New York City Carriage Horse Rescued from Slaughter

Bobby Segundo is a New York Carriage Horse. When Equine Advocates found him he was suffering from neglect and was being sent to the slaughter house.

Now, thanks to EA he will spend the rest of his life being retired and turned out in the company of other horses…

I really appreciate these institutions that take care of the well being of these beautiful creatures…

I am a native New Yorker born and raised. I now live in California. Some of the so-called animal cruelty leaves me with questions. People like these rescuers though have my utmost respect. Thank you for your unselfish and loving capture and life’s continuance for these fine animals.

Where was this horse purchased/ rescued from?
A stable in NYC, where the horses are examined by vets every few months, or was he purchased at an auction?
If purchased at auction, what is proof that he came from NYC?
    Which carriage company?
When did he last work in NYC?
Has anyone contacted the recorded owner from NYC to determine when the horse was there and whom/ where they sent him for retirement?
How old is the horse? Condition of teeth?
Before you further defame the carriage industry and mislead the general public whom don’t know anything about horses you ought to have this information confirmed and shared. That is what a responsible rescue group would do. Thank you.
