Jim Meaney, owner of Cansolair Inc. displays how he converts pop cans into a powerful solar heating panel. This is perfect, no more trash and good for the environment, shouldn’t someone support this technology? Why didn’t we hear about this?

Haha, people think of everything, don’t they?
Proof that one can do anything, even make solar panels from scratch, if they set their mind to it! Well done.

Adding thermocouple wires to the cans might also be useful in generating electricity – not a lot obviously, but enough to charge modern devices. Two dissimilar metal wires twisted together can create the thermocouple. This is pretty darned neat.

This, although a good idea, has been around for quite awhile. Only problem is that it’s very difficult to store the captured heat, which means no heat at night. Unless you build a huge heat sink and circulate the unwanted daytime heat through the heat sink to be used later.

So why aren’t we all using this? Well when we do someone will come along and charge us for NOT using their electricity or natural gas. They are trying to do just that in the good old USA!
