Sounds like he wanted to be his “day” instead of hers !

Some people like your self, dont understand the closeness. That was his special way of letting go. How many fathers can do this. Beautiful moment in her life!

He should have taped the song and played it for the Father of the bride dance. Totally inappropriate.

agree 100% I would be pissed if anybody did this on MY wedding day…that’s one day the attention should be on me, not you.

Marissa,.. he wasnt ANYBODY, and it wasnt for a day, it was a 3 minute song down the aisle before the service even started. It was a symbolic act of love. The dad didnt take that walk for granite. How could anyone get “PISSED” over a beautiful 3 minute song sung to the bride by her father,..prior to the wedding. Why is it ok to pay a stranger to sing??? The song was about her and his love for her. Save your battles for the big bad stuff in your life.

If this is a Catholic church, the pastor should be shot & denied last rights. And the father has turned his daughter’s wedding day into a Broadway production. There’s a little place where this would be appropo…it’s called a reception hall.

I told my father I loved him everyday…he never told me he loved me back. So if my father would have loved me half as much as this girl’s dad loves her I would have been blessed.

This is offensive to the integrity of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Those of you who support this farce apparently have no concept of the solemn dignity of the Church’s liturgical celebration. What the bride and her father did was cheapen the liturgy, forgetting that Christ is the central figure. The priest had no right to do this and he is just as much to blame for this mockery.

Who wants to hear this kind of drivel…no one that’s who.Get over it…

It is not a mockery at all, but a true act of love from the heart and soul. He sang to his daughter before the service even started. It was the time that he sybolized to come together one last time as his child and let her free. If we all could only share our love so beautifully and freely the way the dad did, we would be far better people.
God recognizes the love of his song of “the slow walk”, and not the rules that were made up along the way and drilled into people minds. It is rigid and hateful attitudes like your self that has started and feed religious wars for centuries.

Thank you for your post Linda, I fully agree with you. God is not interested in the outer trappings and dogma. He is interested in the heart and recognizes love.

I don’t think that God never intended us to enjoy ourselves in church! He was making joyous noise in a joyous moment! It was beautiful and touching, it was not offensive to the integrity of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. good grief!!!

Funny how some people feel such a need to spew negativity! I was always taught: If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all. It was their ceremony, not yours!

For those with negative replies, go get a life.
Learn what love and closeness is about.
And no its not just the Bride and Grooms day.
Parents hand over something very precious to them.

What a bunch of cold hearted idiots some of you are. This is beautiful and she will always remember it… I would rather have my father sing than pay some stranger to it… It made me cry!!!!

I think that this was a very beautiful moment for both daughter and father. I wished I had a father that would have walked me down the aisle. I truely love the song.

Quite so Bobbi. I am appalled at some of the comments here and demonstrates how some people can be slaves to dogma. Christ taught ‘love’ and the father’s actions were just that. It was a very special and beautiful moment for everyone present. I was very moved by what the father did. Many of the comments here completely miss what really happened and just show cold callousness.

I am stunned by many of the mean-spirited comments in response to this video. I would bet there are many, many women out there who wished they had a father like this……mine never showed a single iota of care….would have done almost anything to have a dad like this! And, for those of you spouting all your dogma about the sacrifice of the Mass, etc……did no one ever tell you “make a joyful noise unto the Lord”? Shame on you.
