    change the door handle to the round ones..problem solved

    Have you considered changing the door handles to doorknobs? Its not rocket science that your Cat has figured out something as simple as the handle.. but it begs the question of why you want him/her to stay out of all the rooms.

    my cat also used to do that so i turned the handles so u have to lift instead of press down, worked a treat

    One of our cats can do that with the regular round handled doors. If cats had thumbs, they would take over the world. LOL!
