Walmart has just unveiled their latest truck; it’s the Walmart Advanced Vehicle Experience, or WAVE.
These trucks are super-efficient with very advanced aerodynamics and powered by a prototype advanced turbine-powered, range-extending series hybrid powertrain, if you know what I mean (’cause I don’t)…
The trailer is almost completely made of carbon fiber, which makes them about 4,000 pounds lighter than most.
Well they certainly can afford them…

I think they are ugly. And that’s great that the driver can now sit in the center with all that glass in front and around him. So much could happen in an accident, severe storm with hail, stones, etc. Why do they “need” an electronic dash and a sliding door? Makes no sense to me.

Why do we need smartphones, or the internet?
It’s all about making the experience more enjoyable for the driver. I’m sure the glass will be re-enforced or strengthened so stones and hail won’t cause much damage to it.
This is what the future is all about. Being more efficient and using technology to enhance our experience during our one life that we get.
Would you rather drive a plain ol’ boring truck or one of these new slick looking modern machines!
I know which one I’d rather drive.

Many years ago I worked in a truck stop as a summer job. It used to be a real pain washing the windshields of the big trucks (I’m 5’4″ tall). I’m grateful I won’t have to deal with these.

I’m glad it has a “sleeper” area cause if you work at Walmart odds are you can’t afford rent.
