thanks for the info and I love the pink toe nail. 😜

Just curious. Why use 3 gallons of water? Wouldn’t a concentrated solution work as well? You’d use less volume per load and save space. Just a thought. Can’t wait to make this myself and see how it works.

questions: can this be used in an HE washer? What is the borax for? What was the total cost for everything, including the bucket (with lid)? How well does it clean. I wish they had demonstrated by showing dirty before and clean after shots.

Thank you for posting. I think I’m going to try it being that they put all those chemicals in our laundry detergent. By the way, the toe nail was not pink, it is orange. You guys sound like you’re a lot of fun.

I have been making this for a couple of years. I use a box of washing soda, a box of the borax and three bars of fells naphtha. Some loads I add oxyclean, but only on very dirty loads. I mix and use it dry. don’t like the water base one. I have a HE machine and I add one tablespoon per load. Best detergent I have ever used and it is so little money. Alooks like a mess when you start mixing and stirring the gel. Lots less storage room, too.

Thinking I like the dry version better. So still chop up the bar soap and use borax? What about the other items they used in the video? What washing soap do you use? About how much does this make compared to what they make in the video
