    • Check at your home depot or lowes and ask if they have any “Clobber”, if they don’t have that brand, ask if they have something similar for clogged drains. Wear rubber goves and goggles in case of splashing. Follow directions on label.

I use this method a lot of times. Like you said, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Most of the time it does.

If you have a septic tank does the detergent negatively impact the fluids drained into the soil? Impact on vegetation around the drain field?

  11. I’ve done a lot of plumbing work, and I always use a closet auger. I do like your method though i’ll give it a try if ever at someone’s home and I don’t have my tools with me, like at a party. Thanks for the tip!

Yes this might unclog the toilet but paper towels are not made to break down like toilet paper therefore it just goes down into your main sewer line and get caught on a tree root that may be growing or on any other small obstruction causing a bigger one and making your floor drain in the basement or elsewhere overflow!!

I’ve been using this method for years but you need to do one young differently. Pour a full pail of hot water from WAIST high so it goes into bowl with more pressure. It makes a BIG difference and also use Dawn detergent. Just say’n.
