I Gave My Kids a Terrible Present!

TV Show Host Jimmy Kimmel pulled out another of his famous pranks and this one didn’t disappoint. Parents pretended to give their kids horrible presents for Christmas. Some of the kids’ reactions are heartwarming; others are downright appalling. So what do you guys think of this video? Funny or cruel?

That was funny as hell. Thanks for sharing the video. I’m sure we’ll here how are kids are all spoiled and unappreciative. But which on eof us would be jumping for joy, getting an onion or half eaten sandwich from Santa?
The last kid nailed it!! 🙂

It was funny, at least the kids had other gifts to open, where as lots of kids woke up to no gifts under the tree, cause mom and dad couldn’t afford to buy anything, we have had many Christmas’s where I didn’t have the money to buy my daughter anything. From 2010 to 2013 was the case, last year we were fortunate and then this year I had only one gift to give her, yes she is 27 but still it would have been nice to give her more than one gift.

I’m completely amazed by the Behavior of some of these children! Edpecially langyage and just the outrage that some showed! It just shows how spoiled the children ofcthat generation are! They get to many material things in there lives and no respect at sll for adults!

  5. This was so funny. I feel bad for the kids but it goes to show that kids just don’t understand. I loved watching the expressions on the different kids face.

  6. Some kids are right down ugly with the way they talk to there parents. Maybe some of these kids really need to receive gifts like they were given.

Honestly I think the parents are horrible for doing this to their children. Most likely having gotten them all excited and waiting for ages for their presents, to play jokes with them is horrible. All I see is children reacting as expected to messages sent by their parents that they don’t really give a shit about them, or their feelings. They are just kids!!! What did you think would happen when they found out that the people that are supposed to care about them didn’t think any more of them than to give them an onion??? If my husband had done that to me, I would be upset, and at that age, you can’t hide feelings of disappointment. This is the best day of the year for them and not likely how they would react in everyday life. To wind them up and get them all excited about christmas and then let them down? And then sit there and videotape and laugh at how upset they are and share it with the world? Are they supposed to feel loved, and grateful that they have such thoughtful people caring for them??? NO… It’s not cool to play with people emotions, make them feel unimportant, ESPECIALLY when you’re supposed to be the adult and know better. What kind of parent would purposefully want to send the message to their kids that they’ll let them down and exploit their emotions on what’s supposed to be the day about showing them just how much they care about them, just because the television told them to??? Everything you do sends a message to your children… I hope you all start sending the right ones… That they are important, that you will not wind them up just to let them down. If you can’t afford presents you should tell them so, and not purposefully lead them to disappointment – This is why they are upset… Because you led them to believe you were going to do something, and then didn’t… Not that they didn’t get something amazing. The level of disappointment is determined by their expectations, which is led by the parents… All you’re showing is how bad you can make your kids feel by leading them on and then letting them down. The worse the kid behaves, the bigger difference between what their parents led them to expect and how far from that ideal they delivered. Worst video ever. Stop saying how horrible it is that children are reacting normally to being let down by their parents (who wouldn’t have let them down if they didn’t raise their expectations) and maybe look at the fact that these parents, who are responsible for the emotional well-being of these children have just made them feel like shit on purpose because it would be “funny” to everyone else. Your kids are your responsibility, and should be the most important people in the world to you… AND YOU SHOULD LET THEM KNOW IT by your behaviour, by how you treat them. Not by putting up their emotional reactions which are LED BY YOU online for everyone to see and talk about what a horrible child you have because of their reactions…. Wow, you have no sense of humor. How sad. I’m pretty sure these parents followed up with their real presents. Maybe the real lesson if there is to not have expectation. I do agree that the negative comments are not warranted, but your response is not positive either. Remember that show America’s Funniest Home videos? This is not too far from that. We all need to be lifted with laughter every now and then, if someone is damaged from this then maybe they were not right to begin with. Part of growth is being able to laugh at yourself. Are there not moments that you reflect upon in your life that make you laugh? I hope for your sake that there are. You are never too old to grow.

My Grandma used to wrap our presents in old Pamper boxes. We didn’t know what to think until we caught on after a few years 🙂
