If you saw someone hitting a woman in the elevator, would you interfere? It happened to me before, and I did. Honestly I always thought everybody would intervene. Well, I guess I’m in the minority. Check this social experiment…. How many react in an elevator where a woman is subjected to threats and violence? What do you guys think?

A social experiment like that would have ended up in a medical emergency experiment if I saw it, the boy would have been on the ground praying to God that I don’t hit him again! What is the matter with people that they could just ignore something like that?
Be careful on who you experiment on, it may not turn out like you had planned.

Nope…. ppl only react to impress each other nowadays. The results would’ve been different had this experiment performed in a crowded area.

I wish you were correct; however, I was the victim in a violent situation. My first husband severely beat me up and kicked me on the head, with steel toed boots, over 24 times (according to the hospital where I ended up) and at least 15 people made a circle around us and watched 😦 I do NOT watch when I see any abuse, I react! I can’t help it.

Unreal how people are so unwilling to speak up for another person. It always amazes me for whatever reason they remain silent. Just as when they staged this with a person with disabilities getting yelled at and made fun of for their disability and not many say a word. I sure hope these silent witnesses never need someone to help them cause Karma is a bitch. I would speak up and step in every time and not hesitate.

I reacted once only to have the girl confront me and tell me to leave her man alone..I also had a best friend who got beat by her husband I called the police and she never spoke to me again..I don’t blame anyone for not reacting if they wanted to get out of the situation they would

He made an experiment to show that everyone can turn into a rapist, i agree to that. But how people react to this is by letting go. Men who take this as an easy going thing are lacking self respect, i mean would you agree to a sexual harassment if your mom went through one? Of course not. you loose dignity as well. If someone was getting sexually abused, no one would know how to react, who knows? maybe the reason is a dark one or maybe they find it interesting to watch a girl getting touched by an old man. They turn their backs for something that would change someone’s life, which is of course the one who is getting sexually abused.

Everyone complains how by standers do not interfere. Want to know why? Ive interfered before – i had both the man AND the woman then turn on me. Why? Coz he was her partner and regardless of the situation she would still back him.

One time about 20 years ago, I too, watched and did nothing. It has haunted me ever since. I feel so ashamed. I know today that I am a better person. Then there were no cell phones and I was in a bad part of town but I could have done lots of things! I am an elderly woman but TODAY I would fight him off her!

I’m sure they were careful that they only did this experiment in front of passive people for fear of the dude getting knocked out or worse. If this happened in front of any now of 10 of my friends the dude would be in the emergency room.
